The JCB Academy runs an annual ski trip during the February half-term. In February 2017, we are taking 60 students skiing and snowboarding in Madonna di Campiglio in Italy. We will be staying in the Hotel Villa Fosine in Pinzolo at the foot of the fabulous Dolomites. The cost of the trip includes luxury coach travel, six nights full-board accommodation, six days lift pass, hire of ski boots/skis/poles/helmets, ski instruction and a full programme of evening entertainment.
Madonna di Campiglio is famous for its wonderful scenery, thanks to being surrounded by the fabulous Dolomiti di Brenta mountains. It’s an exciting ski area which includes the panoramic Pinzolo-Campiglio Express gondola that’s connected the ski runs of Pinzolo with those of Madonna di Campiglio and Folgarida-Marilleva since 2011. Our ski pass will cover this entire area.
The village of Madonna di Campiglio is only 20 mins drive from our hotel and has a fantastic ambience. It is a very fashionable and attractive place to spend the evening and some of our après-ski activities will be located here. There’s plenty to do in terms of evening entertainment, including ice skating, swimming, pizzerias and shopping.
Madonna di Campiglio is fantastic for beginners as progression to the longer runs is particularly easy here. This resort is also great for intermediates, with a great range of reds available. For the more experienced skiers, it’ll be worth checking out Pinzolo and Marilleva, although Madonna itself is home to the very steep Canalone Miramonti, a formidable World Cup slalom course.
The ‘queen of snow’ also boasts a modern lift system, which amply serves skiers of all abilities.
We have sole occupancy of Hotel Villa Fosine in Pinzolo. This is a charming family run hotel situated in a quiet location just 350m from the ski lift. The rooms have traditional mountain décor with wooden furniture and parquet floors. Each room has a flat-screen TV and en suite bathroom with free toiletries. The hotel serves homemade cakes, pastries, ham, cheese and much more at the breakfast buffet each morning.
